Release Instructions
🐞 How to Release Beneficial Insects
Maintain a healthy ecosystem by following these simple steps when your beneficial insects arrive:
🕒 Choose the Right Time & Conditions
Best to release insects same day you receive (with exception of Green Lacewing Eggs). If you can not it is ok to store overnight at 50 - 75 °F and moderate humidity.
Release insects in early morning or late evening when temperatures are between 60 –85 °F
Avoid extreme heat, cold, or heavy rain—stressful conditions reduce survival
Avoid overhead watering for first 24hrs after release, to minimize washing off and disturbing insects. This said, they are insects and if it is outdoors, they will be able to find cover if it rains.
Green Lacewing – Separate Egg & Larvae Instructions
🔍 Larvae (in hexcomb tray)
Release immediately or refrigerate very briefly (no more than 24 hrs) at 50-65°F .
To release, pull back small sections of the Organdy fabric as you release. Tap the back of the hexcomb hard or shake the hexcomb over pest hotspots or infested plants.
You can also, cut sections of the hexcomb and place or hang in the foliage.
Eggs (in bottle)
Keep the bottle at 70–90 °F with ~60% humidity, away from direct sunlight
Watch daily: once the first larvae start hatching (usually within 3–5 days), release immediately by shaking contents into foliage Releasing after all hatching ensures minimal cannibalism and uniform distribution.
Cryptolaemus – Mealybug Destroyers
Release at dusk or dawn near mealybug-infested sites
Gently shake the vial onto or beside the plants.
These beetles also hunt aphids and soft scale—no extra prep needed.
Lindorus – Scale Insect Destroyers
Sprinkle or place beetles directly onto branches or under leaves where scale is present.
Adults will immediately feed and lay eggs and start hunting
No special holding conditions; release on arrival.
Predatory Mites (Seasonal Mix)
Rotate jars gently to mix mites, then sprinkle evenly across foliage, focusing on pest hotspots
Leave the caps and jars near your plants for 24hrs to allow the rest to exit the bottle.
