What is Real Good Bugs?

Real Good Bugs delivers live good bugs (also known as beneficial insects) directly to your door to help control garden pests the natural way. We specialize in monthly and quarterly subscription boxes filled with “perfectly imperfect” predators—still effective, just not always commercially flawless.

We reduce waste, save you money, and support your garden’s health with a fresh mix of natural allies every cycle.

🌿 Why a Subscription Model?

Pest management isn’t a one-time fix—it’s a preventative management program.

By maintaining a steady population of beneficial predators in your garden, you disrupt pest life cycles before they become major problems. It’s nature’s version of integrated pest control: build a team of hungry allies and keep them on patrol.

But we get it—sometimes you face seasonal surges or stubborn pests. That’s why we offer Boost Add-Ons. If you know you’ve got trouble with aphids, mealybugs, or pest mites, these extra doses help tip the balance fast.

Prevent problems early. Correct issues when needed. That’s the power of ongoing, natural pest control.

📦 What comes in the subscription box?

Each shipment includes a seasonal mix of beneficial insects such as:

Cryptolaemus montrouzieri – Mealybug destroyers

Green Lacewing larvae & eggs – Excellent for aphids, whiteflies, and soft-bodied pests

Lindorus lophanthae – Scale insect predators

Predatory mites – Including species like Fallacis, Californicus, Occidentalis, and Persimilis based on seasonal needs

We rotate species based on what pests are active and what’s thriving in our insectary.

🔁 What subscription options are available?

You can choose:

Monthly Subscription – Best for consistent protection

Quarterly Subscription – Great for seasonal support of your naturally occurring good bug population.

Both options ship automatically and can be paused, skipped, or canceled anytime.

🐛 Why do I see dead insects in the package?

That’s totally normal.

Even with careful packing, many insects will not survive the trip—but we always pack extra to compensate. This is common industry-wide. Beneficials are living organisms, not factory parts, and casualties are expected.

What matters is that you still receive enough live, active insects to get the job done. The survivors are tough, hungry, and ready to work.

🚚 When do boxes ship?

We ship during the first full week of each month for all subscriptions. You'll receive a confirmation email and tracking info once your order is on the way.

➕ Can I add more bugs to my box?

Yes! We offer add-on options for extra:

Cryptolaemus beetles

Green Lacewing larvae or eggs

Lindorus beetles

Seasonal predatory mite blends

These will ship with your subscription box and are priced to make upsizing easy.

🌼 How do I use the insects?

We include simple release instructions with every box. Most insects should be applied early morning or late evening, directly onto or near pest-infested plants. See our Release instruction page as well.
